Matthew Williamson for H&M

Came across this collection today by Matthew Williamson for H&M and I want a few pieces from it...more like need to get my hands on it!

The men’s collection takes inspiration from Williamson’s own wardrobe, mixing a dapper young gentleman’s style with hot colour and covetable ethnic influences. “I have aimed to incorporate a styling juxtaposition where global inspiration is fused with quintessential English style,” says Williamson. Seersucker blazers look their best when worn with Cuban-style printed shirts, while denim comes in strong blue and vivid pink. Tie-dye sweaters come in purple and pink, while a T-shirt comes with Williamson’s signature peacock print. For the beach there are board shorts or little swim shorts, and pulling the whole look together is an accessory that is Williamson’s personal signature - a large, crinkled scarf. (Nitrolicious)

Cut Offz

So its SPRING and time to pull out those SHORTS and flip flops!!

One trend that I can't seem to get enough of, and I mean I have been looking for old jeans and pants throughout my collection, is the cut off short. I don't know if the designers felt lazy this time around, but this effortless yet classic look is to die for and just about anyone can pull it off.

Pair these cut offs with a basic tee, or a tank and flip flops or some cool plimsolls. You can dress this look up by adding a vest or a cardigan and then some boat shoes or my favorite, casual wingtips.

You don't have to go out to the store to get in on this trend, if you have some old jeans in the back of your closet that you are not too fond of anymore......and just grab your favorite shorts to use as a stencil, and cut those badboys. I recommend cutting them just below the knee because they fray after a few washes, and so you can put a fold or two to shorten them.

Jeans Jacket

Kanye West can do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to fashion.....he always manages to make a statement with his choice of ensembles.

One of my favorite pieces recently worn by Ye is the jean jacket. The Jean Jacket is one of those must haves in your collection.

Don't be worried if your jeans jacket and your jeans don't match, contrasting denims is very fashionable.

The Louis Vuitton don has teamed up with Louis Vuitton and as a result, created........a monster. There is not much more I can say so here goes some pics.....

Plimsolls

Talk about old trends making a comeback....the plimsoll shoe would have to be one of my favorites.

The sand shoe, which was developed as beachwear in the 1830s by the Liverpool Rubber Company, were later dubbed the plimsoll because
the colored horizontal band joining the upper to the sole resembled that of the Plimsoll line on a ship's hull; like the ship if water got above the line of the rubber sole, the wearer would get wet. (lol)

Today plimsolls can be found in many colors and styles and are being reproduced by many of the top designers to date. Keds is a well known maker of the plimsoll.

These shoes can be paired with denim, a tee and a cardigan for a cool classic look.

The Plaid Mafia

I made a post way back when about plaid flannel.......and I now believe that it is here to stay!

It is amazing how these retro trends are slowly working their way back onto the scene and people cannot seem to get enough of them. I for one have NO problem with that what so ever!!

Run on out and get yourself some plaid for Spring/Summer 09!!

SPRING BREAK!!

Hey, its been a while since I posted new material.....so what better time to do so than......SPRING!!

There are many new trends that have been surfacing for Spring 09 and one of the most popular would have to be the sailor trend. It is a cool combination of shorts and polos/tees and boat shoes. The bar polos are a huge hit with this look, and have many variations!! I've included some key looks for your inspiration.

Remember don't be afraid to prep it up.
